Robotics (FLL)

In my school ASL, there is a program called ASP. That stands for After School Programs. I am in an ASP called Robotics. Every Monday for two hours my teammates and I work on a robot and a project. The year of 2019 the project theme was CityShapers. There are two parts of the competition the first part is the Robot and the second part is the Project.

First, let me tell you about the Robot Competition. The robot’s goal is to get as many points as possible. Here are some of the missions the robot can do to get points. It can go up a bridge. When it gets up the bridge it can press a flag for even more points. Second, it can knock over a lever that makes a swing go back and forth. Those are only a couple of missions. There are many more and they are all unique and fun.

The second part of the competition is making a Project. The Project that we made was an app that made reporting trash on the sidewalk, graffiti, potholes and broken street lamps easy and efficient. My team was made up of three 6th graders including my brother and two 5th graders including me.

This ASP was a great experience and I learned a lot of helpful skills such as teamwork, hard work, and research. It was so much fun and I cannot wait to do it next year where I will have more experience and I can make the Robot and the Project even better.
