I had never shot a bow before, so this was going to be my first time. It was
a Thursday at Bushcraft and we were about to do an activity. No one knew what
we were going to do but we knew that we were going to have fun!
Bushcraft
is a school trip to a camp in the woods. It lasted for 3 days. We learned so
many things. For example, how to make a peg with a knife. But this story is
about the game Archery Tag.
We ran down the hill and waited at the bottom. There the counselors told us
what we were going to do. He told my group that we were going to be first at Archery
Tag. We put on our protection and Lida (Lida is our tribe leader, at Bushcraft
we were organized into tribes) explained the rules. Then it was time to choose
the teams. She asked us to make groups of 4 or 5 and all the boys chose other
boys and all the girls chose other girls. That meant BOYS V GIRLS.
Just like that, we started, and Omer my best friend was out. I was
determined to get Omer back in, so I risked it and tried to grab a moving
arrow. I felt my hand wrap tightly around the arrow and Omer was back in the
game. We started doing more defensive moves and less attacking and that is how
we won the first game. But there was one more game to come……..
